Trip_Cannon #1 Posted April 29, 2004 Hey guys, I had a funny recolection just now (at least I get a giggle or two from). I'm wondering if anybody remembers the Atari 7800 as as sports powerhouse advertisements. I believe that there was Spud Webb for basketball, Ozzie Smith for Baseball, and Doug Williams for football. I remember thinking it was the most ironic thing in the world.. There were only 3 sports games out when these appeared! I mean, the games had nothing to do with the athletes themselves. Even in the adverts they couldn't wear their official jersey!! "Finally I can play with the big boys!" - Spud Webb on One on One Basketball.

IIRC, most of the adverts were actually for the XEGS, not the 7800.
