liveinabin #1 Posted May 12, 2004 Here's an odd thing, I found this in Sega's E3 page. I always thought that the planned 'Virtua Fighter' RPG was what became Shenmue. At least, that's what Yu Suzuki always maintined. Seems it now has a life of it's own. • Virtua Quest™ (Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2): Virtua Quest is a 3D Action/RPG that features both core RPG elements (exploration, treasure gathering, and character development) and a strong fighting component. The player assumes the identity of a young boy named Sei (pronounced "Say"). As the player explores each stage, he/she will discover "Virtua Souls" - data clusters that contain information about the martial arts abilities of the legendary Virtua Fighter characters. These clusters give the player the ability to easily perform complex fighting moves. As the game's story progresses, Sei discovers that only he can unlock the potential of the Virtua Souls, and he subsequently gains the attention of an evil syndicate known as Judgment 6. figgler #2 Posted May 13, 2004 Sounds interesting enough.. pray that it's not too linear. If they are looking to bridge the fighter-RPG gap, they'd better satisfy both ends of the spectrum. If the fighting's up to snuff, but the adventure is on rails, or vice versa, they're gonna miss the target

Heres to hoping there is a worldwide release on this little gem! Good adventure games almost NEVER get released here. Still no Xenosaga I see. Stupid bastards. US readers may find this interesting - Parasite Eve was never released over here, yet Parasite Eve 2 was - and it did really well. Now, of course, ALL buyers in UK of that game will have imported, or at least heard about, PE1. Now, it wouldn't take a genius to look at the sales of the sequel and arrive at "Hey, hang on a minute - shitloads of people must have been importing the first game, maybe there's a market for this kind of stuff in UK!". Several years later and nothing has changed. It's nothing short of requisite to chip your console here

Jasoco #11 Posted May 14, 2004 That reminds me, I'd like to pick up Shenmue II for Box sometime soon. How much is it? And if it's used, is there any chance of not getting that special Movie? Is it one disc? Or two?
MegaManFan #12 Posted May 14, 2004 Shenmue II for X-Box was only $19.99 when the Mrs. and I picked it up, and it comes with a bonus DVD/movie.

Jasoco #16 Posted May 14, 2004 I got it today. Shenmue II that is. Watching the DVD right now. Can't wait to play the game. Maybe put some time into it at least. Also got Pikmin again to try once more. Traded that in a while ago.
