One game that would ultimately sell the PSP for me....

Recommended Posts

Wouldn't that be awkward? I mean, you've got the dance pad on the ground, and you've got to hold the PSP still enough so you can see the arrows?? :D

There are 3 GBC Japan-only Beatmania games and (I think) DDR also . . . (I own the last two Beatmanias, understand the first one is awful, though. I suck at it, it's insanely hard (especially on an original wide-footprint GBA), but it's cool enough.

But nothing for the new generation of systems. Odd.

Maybe some Taebo type game. The PSP can be made heavily enough to be a weight. Or even have little addon weights to the system. Of course offer the game seperate, or offer a boxed version of the game that has the weight add-ons :)

I'd go for a 'Bust a Groove' (or Bust a Move - depending on which country you're in) PSP conversion. That'd be good for a handheld.

I didnt either at first but my fiance got DDR MAX 2 for PS2 And I've actually had a lot of fun with it. Its kind of addictive and its a good workout, believe it or not.

I can see the appeal, but I'm not really coordinated enough for them.

...

They make for a great spectator game, though.

I've thought it over, and there is simply NO game the PSX-PS2 has that interests me enough to want a PSP. Not even Death Jr. But the DS, now THAT has so much I know I'll get. But the PSP, if they release sequels or side-stories to their PS2 games, none of them will get me to buy. No, not even Final Fantasy. The only one in my family who likes FF is my brother. Let HIM buy the PSP if he wants.

Not even a Crash or Spyro game.

FF would be the last reason I would ever buy a console. BOORRRINGG!!!

Anyways, what does the DS have that is so appealing then? Well for someone over 16 ;) Seriously, what does it have? I know for a fact that the PSP has a bunch of stuff I want. THUG2, UBISoft support, and Tiger Woods.

I forgot about Gran Turismo!! Somehow I don't think Mario Kart 20...j/k will be able to compete.

Agreed as well...FF = meh.

Now, if one of these new consoles had a remake or an original version of the much maligned MILON'S SECRET CASTLE, then maybe, just maybe, I would be convinced to purchase one.

MSC was the pinnacle of 8-bit platform gaming as far as I'm concerned...tough as nails, tons of technique and no password/save system. But, persevere and your efforts would be rewarded with subtle firepower increases and loads of interesting items. Yes, the premise is a bit silly and the main character isn't exactly the manly type (you control a little clown who shoots bubble projectiles), but then again, many of today's gaming heroes haven't exactly fared any better (Link the elf boy, and Mario the overall-wearing plumber), but still, aside from the Gameboy remake this franchise really needs a new game and what better way to make its return than a release for the new systems?

It will if you're looking for pure fun and not photo realistic cars and true to life physics featuring precision driving

I'm with Jasoco on this one. The DS has already slated numerous games I'm on board for: Bomberman, Metroid, New Super Mario Bros., etc. While the PSP has only listed stuff that ties into the PSX and PS2 titles, none of which interest me in the least

How many metroid and Mario games can one play??? Thats been my number one complaint for a long time. Im tired of playing the same games with the levels re hased over and over and over.... Ive been playing mario in 2D for almost 20 years now!!!

BTW, Gran turismo is more fun that Mario Kart. Its a matter of perspective. :ponder:

No dancepad....just use your fingers like you do on Stepmania for PC or you can use the controller in the PS2 version. Amplitude or Frequency would be fun. As for Bust-A-Move, that's an entirely different game.

There's a "finger dance" pad for the GBA DDR games. You can't truly use a standard controller to play DDR because it's impossible to press up and down or left and right together on a control pad without opening it up.

A standard controller for what? The way the gameboy DDR's go is that A is up and B is right or something like that. That is what you push when you do the jumps.

Wha? DDR's on the GBA and it comes with its own controller? **drool**

Okay I'm not a big fan of portable game systems in general, but I agree with Jeepnut on this one. Gran Turismo on a handheld would be very cool.

That's assuming you can still drive a Mini in it. ;)
