bcprs1
Does anyone remember a tv commericial atari did for Crossbow? All I remember is that it was a different variation on the "fun is back" song, but with differnt lyrics. I think it had a guy rapping and then showed some pictures of the game. I remember seeing the screen of the castle with the guy shooting arrows.
Tempest
The only 2600 commercial I really remember is the one for the 2600 jr. where they had a guy doing this really bad rap "It's the 2600 of A-Tar-i". Dear God I can't get it out of my head! Make it stop!!!! Tempest
kpyrz
And one more thing, it's got a special low price... under 50 bucks. 50 BUCKS??!! Now isn't that nice?

Tizoc
quote: Originally posted by Tempest: Anyone have a clip of that? http://www.atari-history.com/archives/movies.html Curt has a huge archive of commercials. The 2600 jr commercial is the fourth one down on the link above. For anyone that hasn't visited curt's page, it's a kickass site, lots of good info. Here is the link to the entire site: http://www.atari-history.com
Tempest
Oh yeah, I forgot Curt had those on his page. I was always more interested in the technical stuff than the commericals. Tempest

Mindfield
You can also grab all those and more from ftp://nostalgia:ads@ftp.mindfield.dyndns.org:2026 I've grabbed all of Curt's stuff, plus a ton from other sources. Incluing The "white men can't rap" 2600 From A-Ta-Ri spot. :-)
Tempest
Did you ask Curt before you leeched his stuff? I'm sure he wouldn't mind, but it's always nice to ask. BTW, did anyone notice that weird marketing update at the end of the commerical? I assume that wasn't for the general public (no one advertises increased advertising). My God does that commerical bring back memories. I was actually able to sing along word by word and I hadn't seen it in 14 years. Amazing what can get burned into your mind. I wonder if I can sue Atari for that? Tempest
El Destructo
Geez, and I just started a thread introducing the Atari commercials webpage that I first made in 1996. But I guess everyone's already seen copies on other sites. Ah well. But, at least now you know where six of the ads originated -El D.
