+johnnywc #1 Posted August 22, 2001 Does anyone know where I can get overlays for the CCW games? I just picked up ABWE, CMM and BBEC on ebay (3 bucks each in good shape!) but no overlays. If anyone here has some extra ones (even a kids controller) I'd be interested in buying or trading for them. Thanks,
Ze_ro #2 Posted August 22, 2001 I don't know what those acronyms stand for, but here's a site with a good amount of overlays that you can print out if you like. If that seems lame, try this: 1. Get some inkjet transparencies and print the overlays on them. Make sure you mirror the picture so that it shows through the shiny side of the transparency. 2. Get some white spray paint, and paint the back of the overlay white. Make sure to use a couple of coats. (Do this out in your garage or something, as it'll probably be messy, and you'll want a ventilated area for the paint) I haven't actually gotten around to doing this myself (y'know, because of the laziness and all), but I saw this recommended on a website somewhere, and it seems like it would work well to me. Be careful what size you print out the overlays though... do a few test prints on normal paper until you get it right. --Zero
Tempest #3 Posted August 22, 2001 ABWE = Aplh aBeam With Ernie CMM = Cookie Monster Munch BBEC = Big Bird's Egg Ctach And don't forget OTR = Oscars Trash Race The real overlays are made from a thick plastic (nothing like the Star Raiders overlay). I guess they wanted something sturdy for the kids. Tempest
Albert #4 Posted August 22, 2001 We have overlays online here also, although the 2600 ones aren't immediately obvious. I can provide higher-resolution scans if you want to print them out: Atari 2600 Overlays Atari 5200 Overlays Enjoy, ..Al

I always that that if I ever got any of these games (I never look specifically for them, but I'll buy them if I happen across them), I'd hack together an overlay that would fit on the video touchpad instead... I'd rather not have to keep attaching different size touchpads for different games. --Zero
Tempest #6 Posted August 23, 2001 That's true and the original overlays have bumps where the buttons go that would be hard to reproduce anyway. But it's not like your going to play these anyway. Tempest
+johnnywc #7 Posted August 23, 2001 Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I'm actually looking for the original overlays (not just scans, etc). And yes - I (well my daughter) is going to play these, so I'm hoping to get the originals for the bumps in the plastic and for the sturdiness as well... Joel D. Park #8 Posted August 24, 2001 My friend, Best Electronics have the loose overlays for these games in their catalog. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/2600.htm They don't seem to be listed online though, but maybe I just never found them... Seems to me the had everything but Oscar's Trash Race. And they were like 3.00 each. You can probably email them and they will give you a price on all three. The Best guys rule, they ship fast and reply to their email normally within a day or so.
