birdie3 #1 Posted May 24, 2004 I just got this version of a CV emulator but it did not come with any legend or button explanation. Does anyone here know where I can find the information I need to play these games properly?
Zaxxon #2 Posted May 24, 2004 Don't waste your time with ColEm, it's totally crappy. Use MEKA.
Gregory DG #3 Posted May 24, 2004 Don't waste your time with ColEm, it's totally crappy. Use MEKA. Isn't MEKA a Sega Master System emulator? I used to use ColEm, but I use Virtual Colecovision now. Much nicer.
SS #4 Posted May 24, 2004 Isn't MEKA a Sega Master System emulator? It does Colecovision too. Try V.60, Colecovision emulation has been somewhat off in every version since then.
Susuwatari #5 Posted May 24, 2004 Colecovision and Sega Master System are very closely related. I wouldn't be surprised if someone can get Sega SG-1000 or SC-3000 to work directly into CV system.
birdie3 #6 Posted May 24, 2004 Actually, I just noticed that I am using Virtual Colecovision. I used to have ColEm on my Mac and I thought that this was the same but apparently it is not. I have been able to figure it out fo the most part. Some of the ROMs I am getting from the digital press site seem to be faulty though. Someone should mention to OPCODE that these old SEGA games may work on the CV. Maybe there is a conversion or two that would be worth doing. Who here would know more about this (?) I wonder. I imagine he already has his hands full with MSX conversions... although my knowledge of japanese computers is somewhat limited, I believe the MSX had a much larger library of games than Sega's goofy computers, so he's probably better off. --Zero
birdie3 #8 Posted May 24, 2004 It was just a thought. I don't really know much about what I am talking about most of the time anyway so..
Zaxxon #9 Posted May 25, 2004 Someone should mention to OPCODE that these old SEGA games may work on the CV. Maybe there is a conversion or two that would be worth doing. Who here would know more about this (?) I wonder. The DINA system played CV and SG-1000 games. I don't know about the SG-3000. SMS games could be made to work on the CV but it might involve having to re-do a lot of the graphics/sprites. The SMS can display more colors than the CV, which can only do 16. birdie3 #10 Posted May 25, 2004 I just checked out a list of games that were released for the SG-1000. Some of those games would be cool on the Colecovision like Elevator Action, Orguss, SEGA Galaga, Zaxxon, or Bomb Jack.
