Godzilla #1 Posted May 25, 2004 Is there any new news on those awesome looking forthcoming intellivision games (The kings quest type game, etc.) They were all being done by one programmer IIRC... Thanks in advance and sorry if it's already here somewhere...
holygrailvideogames.com #2 Posted May 25, 2004 I don't know specifics in terms of titles, but I was told that there are some new homebrews in the works. I know who is going to release them, but I don't know if it is ok to release the name of the guy who is releasing them or not.
Mr.FoodMonster #3 Posted May 26, 2004 Whats the deal with people in the classic gaming community and not wanting people to know their names? I notice this a lot around here, with developers, members of the boards, and many other things...
Godzilla #4 Posted May 26, 2004 well I didn't know it was such a big secret, I mean he released demo roms and has shown the stuff and what not. I just want to know if there is any idea if/when we can expect something to plug into our intys? based on what I've seen, they look awesome, and I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be excited or drumming up some enthusiasm for arnauld! Stingray #5 Posted May 26, 2004 Well I'd like to know who's making them and when they will be available... unless it's a big secret and you'll have to kill me if you tell me. -S
Godzilla #6 Posted May 26, 2004 Here's the web site, that hasn't been update since I first saw it... http://knox.ac.free.fr/inty_roms_en.htm still looks awesome, and this guy really does some amazing stuff with the inty. His 'scene' demo is super sweet, and I -LOVE- his music.
Stingray #7 Posted May 26, 2004 "Castle" looks pretty sweet! So none of this stuff ever made it into cart form then? -S
Ze_ro #8 Posted May 26, 2004 Unfortunately, the nature of the INTV means that if any of this stuff does make it out in cart form, it will likely be rather expensive. Unless someone found a way around that whole "custom ROM chips" problem without telling me. --Zero
Stingray #9 Posted May 26, 2004 Ah, well being a total programming dummy, I was unaware of that issue. That's a shame, I'd love to see some INTV hombrews. -S
Godzilla #10 Posted May 26, 2004 Yea, me too. Kinda why I wrote this topic :-)
holygrailvideogames.com #11 Posted May 28, 2004 Unfortunately, the nature of the INTV means that if any of this stuff does make it out in cart form, it will likely be rather expensive. Unless someone found a way around that whole "custom ROM chips" problem without telling me. --Zero I paid $38.50 (including shipping) for 4-tris which is the only Intellivision homebrew that I own. 4-tris came with the cartridge, box, color manual, and 2 overlays. I thought that the price was very fair. The reason that I didn't disclose the name of the guy who is releasing the games is because I have not spoken to him about it. Someone else told me and I would feel bad if I mentioned his name and he was flooded with emails.
Stingray #12 Posted May 28, 2004 So I'm assuming that the whole custom rom thing is the reason why I've never seen any INTV multicarts. -S
Godzilla #13 Posted May 28, 2004 Is there anywhere to still buy 4tris?
holygrailvideogames.com #14 Posted May 29, 2004 So I'm assuming that the whole custom rom thing is the reason why I've never seen any INTV multicarts. -S Several years ago I contacted Blue Sky Rangers to see if they would make one. It took a long time but they finally emailed me back and indicated that they were thinking of making a multicart. The intellicart was released and I guess that they decided against doing one.
