Trip_Cannon #1 Posted May 25, 2004 Ok, the second animation in the original Pac-Man shows a ghosts costume being ripped open. Yeah, it's a little weird looking! So what the hell is underneath the costume? I mean, it looks skin colored! Is it a person?!
Adrian M #2 Posted May 25, 2004 Well, keep in mind that the Pac-Man coin op cabinet art depics Pac-Man as a weird red-eyed two legged creature, when in fact he does not actually have legs in the game. The ghosts are probably just litte legged aliens who wear capes.
Trip_Cannon #3 Posted May 25, 2004 Yeah! And the ghosts look freakish too! The first one they have mouths! And on Ms. Pac-Man they look like a cross between casper and the wolf from Tex Avery cartoons! That ghost looks like it's ready to give Ms. Pac a little sumpin' sumpin! Dones #4 Posted May 26, 2004 You should lay off the power pellets, man.
EricDeLee #5 Posted May 26, 2004 Also keep in mind... although commonly refered to as 'ghosts'... they are actually called MONSTERS. So apparently these things are monsters of some sort. I think it mentions them as monsters on the original instruction cards (on the arcade bezel).
Stingray #6 Posted May 26, 2004 So in reality they're monsters who like to dress in drag. -S
Nukey Shay #7 Posted May 26, 2004 ...or KKK members that don't know how to seperate their wash But yeah, "wafers", "power pellets", "vitamins", and "ghosts" are the stuff of the 2600 version (vs. the arcade's "dots", "energizers", "targets/fruits", and "monsters").
