eBay Score

5 games, $500 through an eBay deal.

Robocop needs a marquee. Game looks and plays great, cabinet is in fairly bad shape. Looks like an old Galaga cabinet.

Rampart also looks and plays great but is sitting in a Gauntlet II cabinet, so I'm pretty sure I'll be turning that back into a Gauntlet II machine one of these days.

Karate Champ (in a Dig Dug cabinet) ran okay but had a graphics glitch. Instead of f'ing with it I bought a new PCB off of eBay for $20, works perfect now.

Vs. Super Mario Brothers and Vs. Excitebike both work but both need monitor work. I think I'm going to have to turn around and sell this one, as it won't fit through the door of my gameroom. :/

For some reason. I wanted to tell you nice score. I'm interested in more pics of the super mario brothers / excite bike machine. I see the front. But is the back flat or cornered to go into a corner. Also is the inside all one open hole?

thanks,

Sounds like a good deal. Those North/South monitor cabinets are getting valuable as people are turning them (back sometimes) into Mulit-Cade Pac Mans. I have seen them go in the 1500+ range lately. 500 in parts makes a G profit for you....

Those Nintendo cabs are really cool in my opinion. Very cool. :)

Thank you! I will take some more pics of the cabinet shortly. The back is flat and inside it's even more open than most games. Of course you have the two monitors, and then all wires run down and to the bottom left hand corner where the little PCB cage sits. In my younger days I'm sure I could have crawled inside it.

I've seen two of these cabinets up close now (I "bought" one off of eBay but when I showed up it wasn't working so I didn't pay for it). The fronts and sides are all formica and then the backs of both of them are particle board spray painted black. I thought the first one was a hack job and thought it looked terrible, but this one looks just like it.

Biggest problem with the whole thing is the shape. In the middle it's about 40 inches deep, and it's of course wider than that. There's no way it's going to fit through an average sized doorway. :x
