BONEMAN #1 Posted May 27, 2004 Anyone familiar with this game? I just played it for the first time. Is this for real? You get only one life and no continues?
black dog #2 Posted May 27, 2004 Yes its true, don't know who the genius was who came up with the great idea of giving just one life, but he should have been shot.
Adrian M #3 Posted May 27, 2004 It's NOT true. You get an occassional continue once you reach a certain level (stage 3 I think). Keep in mind that you actually have the ability to switch characters and in essence you get 3-4 lifelines at any given point to work with. It's a tough game, but if you play smart and use the life meters from the various characters correctly, it can be be beaten.
figgler #4 Posted May 27, 2004 I hate DD 3, all the Double Dragon games that came before and after are much better than this (even DD 5). To me part 3 was always a black spot on the series
Adrian M #5 Posted May 27, 2004 I hate DD 3, all the Double Dragon games that came before and after are much better than this (even DD 5). To me part 3 was always a black spot on the series The arcade version was just as bad if I recall. I didn't mind the NES iteration, but I agree that DD2 on the NES was the pinnacle of the NES versions.
MegaManFan #6 Posted May 27, 2004 DD3 is clearly the reason action replays were made. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE.
Adrian M #7 Posted May 27, 2004 DD3 is clearly the reason action replays were made. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. It is possible to finish without the aid of a cheat device, but it requires much patience and memorization to do so!
StanJr #8 Posted May 27, 2004 I hate DD3, I've played it all of twice, died both times I got out of the hut and never wanted to try anymore. The previous two were so great, I just knew this one had to be good. Boy was I wrong wrong wrong.
Xot #9 Posted May 27, 2004 I hold the distiction of being one of the rare few, it seems, that played DD3 to completion. As you complete missions you gain the ability to control new characters, and swapping between characters is the key to success. Then you can face Noiram (I shit you not) and the end and die anyways. The arcade game was worse. You had to buy (with credits! as in actually BUY WITH REAL MONEY) power ups and special moves.
figgler #10 Posted May 28, 2004 Noiram? I'm picturing an evil zombie Marion and I'm thinking it's about the stupidest thing I've ever imagined. Please tell me I'm way off base
