Room 34 #2 Posted June 6, 2004 I think this is why Nintendo made the GameCube such a closed system.
Mock #3 Posted June 6, 2004 It's just not worth hacking...lmao
PuddWakkr #4 Posted June 6, 2004 Played a little bit of SMW for the box and it's not half bad. Be pretty fun if you had a bunch of people over.
raindog #5 Posted June 6, 2004 Wow, finally an x-box exclusive I could actually see myself playing
Mock #6 Posted June 7, 2004 it's not exclusive to anything except the free world ...lmao
Rocko #7 Posted June 7, 2004 So, you just jump on eachothers heads? Doesnt sound fun (although, I did like the Tom and Jerry: Fists of Fury for the N64)
raindog #8 Posted June 8, 2004 It sounds like a Mario take on Jump'n'Bump, the free jumping-on-people's-heads party game (and not to be confused with Bump'n'Jump.) In fact, I wonder now how hard it would actually be to hack JnB into this game. Probably wouldn't even need any code changes.

Shannon #10 Posted June 24, 2004 I think this is why Nintendo made the GameCube such a closed system. Yeah. That way it would be done on a REAL console.
JohnnyBlaze #11 Posted June 25, 2004 Can you play this on a PC too?
Shannon #12 Posted June 25, 2004 Can you play this on a PC too? If the source code is available, chances are it could be modified to work on a PC. Especially if it was written in SDL.

No, I mean I wonder how hard it would be to take JnB and hack it so that you could play Mario War on the PC. If it was written in SDL, it should be pretty trivial (and in fact, it makes me wonder if SMW is already just a hack of JnB.)
Hackmann #14 Posted July 1, 2004 The download is already compiled for Windows. To be honest I don't even see anything about the Xbox on the game's Web page.
raindog #15 Posted July 3, 2004 Oh, sorry, when I said "PC" I didn't mean "Windows", I meant "on normal PC hardware". In my case that means "under Linux". But since there is source available and it's SDL, it would probably compile for linux as well. I'm guessing the source availability also means it's not merely a ripoff of JnB. Mock #16 Posted July 3, 2004 The download is already compiled for Windows. To be honest I don't even see anything about the Xbox on the game's Web page. There is nothing on the page that says xbox...but it has been ported...i have it if anyone wants it...once something is done for PC, someone will port it to the xbox if it's possible to run (xbox memory limits this sort of thing in some cases).
