Paul Slocum #1 Posted June 10, 2004 So are some of the B&W/Color switches on all SECAM consoles different from NTSC consoles? A Synthcart user told me when he switches it to B&W, the picture actually changes to black & white. But the Synthcart doesn't support this, so it must be a hardware B&W switch? Is there a hack to install a proper B&W switch? -paul
+Mitch #2 Posted June 11, 2004 I thought I heard that the Color/BW switch on SECAM 2600s was hard wired to BW. I guess a SECAM 2600 owner would really need to answer it though. Mitch
Ze_ro #3 Posted June 11, 2004 The Stella Programmer's Guide claims the switch is hardwired to B&W... Are you sure the guy actually has a legit SECAM console? Or perhaps they released different variations of SECAM consoles? --Zero
Paul Slocum #4 Posted June 11, 2004 It means that from a software perspective, the B&W/Color switch bit is hardwired to B&W. There's still a working B&W/color switch on the console, but it's somehow is hooked up directly to the video output and selects a B&W color palette when you set it to the B&W position, and it doesn't affect the bit that's normally associated with this switch. -paul
