figgler #1 Posted June 11, 2004 Yes it seems to be true. Anyone know anything about this? Second letter from the bottom: http://gameboy.ign.com/mail.html?fromint=
Albert #2 Posted June 11, 2004 LOL, that's pretty damn funny. I can't even envision how that'll turn out, assuming it's not just some 2D platform game. ..Al
SteveW #3 Posted June 12, 2004 I'd like to see it's prequel, Marathon, on the GBA. That would totally kick ass. Especially with a few GBAs networked. *drool*.....
Ze_ro #4 Posted June 12, 2004 Great idea... lets port a huge and complicated game to a small system that can't possibly handle it! I wouldn't get your hopes up about it. Even if this does happen, it'll either be an underpowered FPS (ala Serious Sam) or a mediocre platformer. I like the crack about the Pippen and ColecoVision though. --Zero

Doom was ported to the GBA and it looks good and plays well. Hell, it even has music and the Jaguar version didn't even have that! Not sure how much Marathon differs from Doom in terms of the complexity of the engine or the game, but other fairly simple FPS games should be possible on the GBA. ..Al
Jasoco #6 Posted June 12, 2004 The Bandai Pippin version is taking up all our development bandwidth… Now THAT'S the version I'm waiting for!!
raindog #7 Posted June 12, 2004 I'm really, really hoping someone's wires got crossed and they're actually developing it for the DS. I think we've seen the best FPS games we're going to get out of the GBA.... notice no one has even been lame/brave enough to try to release Quake. If it is a GBA game, I'd bet money that it'll be a 2D platformer like every other license-exploitation title ever released for the GBA.
