Marble Craze hands down 8)

As for commercially released games, I would go with Kaboom, and Fireball.

For classic games, I really enjoy Circus Atari for single player and Warlords for multiplayer mayhem. The two homebrews SCSIcide and Marble Craze are also great paddle games.

Naturally, everyone loves Warlords -- not only is it the best paddle game for the 2600, it's one of the best games for the system. Period.

Now, Astroblast with paddles is simply great, great, great.

Ahh, yes, indeed. I wonder how many people even know Warlords supports the paddles. :)

Top Three, not only excellent games but they'd be unplayable with a joystick:

Tac-Scan

Encounter At L-5

Warlords

Astroblast is much better with the paddles.

My favorite game with the paddles as a single player game is by far Bumper Bash. It's the best use of controllers in a game IMO. My favorite multiplayer game is the already mentioned Warlords.

Circus Atari. Hands down. Some may remember my original username here was "I-Love-Circus-Atari"

A little lame, so I changed it ;)

2.) Midnight Magic

:?

I had no idea that supported paddles.

My favorite paddle game is Circus Atari. Next favorite is Kaboom! (I actually WANT to like Kaboom! more, but it is too vexing.) Third up is Warlords, only because I grew up playing Atari solo...

Midnight Magic? Unless there is an undocumented feature, it requires joystick

Onto the topic, my favorite are Circus and Warlords as well.

It is an undocumented feature.

Try this:

(Its a bit tedious but it works and makes the game play way more fun. I got the idea from the label picture of the guy holding two paddles).

1.) plug a joystick into slot 1

2.) push down on the joystick so the plunger goes down all the way (now get ready)

3.) hit the button and as soon as you do, swap the joystick for a set of paddles.

4.) grab the paddles -- you should have plenty of time before the ball actually comes down. now each paddle controls one side just like a real pinball table.

Demons to Diamonds... No, I'm just kidding!

Like everyone else it is Circus Atari and Kaboom! It is strange how much time I spent playing Circus Atari while I was in high school, especially since it was just a couple of years ago. I guess that one is timeless.
