Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted June 13, 2004 Folks, Just have had enough. I just put it in the basement, and one of the caps on the monitor blew. I WILL NOT FIX THIS GAME AGAIN! I have worked on it for the last time, and after 12 months and almost 300 bucks in parts, I am done. If you want it, its yours. I bought it as a basketcase, and it is now beautiful. Side art is great, controls, you be the judge in the pics. This is the game that Air Sea Battle was modeled after. Great two player game, with a free play button installed. Comes with a spare harness as well. New t-molding, newer monitor (has some paddle ball style burn, but very light and screen was bright till whatever decided to blow), new edges redone on the cabinet, controls all work, new lights, switching power supply and the board is working 100%. Had it professionally done back in March before the Philly show. It was on straight the entire weekend, so I know the game is solid. If you want it, you have to do the pick up. Its back in my garage in VA until somebody comes to get it. I will take trades for boxed Atari 2600 stuff on my wanted list if you are interested (http://atarionline.com/wantedlist2.html). Its seriously going to be an easy fix. I have just had it, and do not have the time to tinker. Being pissed off at a game is NEVER a good way to start working on it. LMK if you are interested. I am sorry, but I cant ship on this one. Cassidy

Saikyo #4 Posted June 14, 2004 If I pick it up I'm going to MAME it. If you MAME that then you will have made a very, very, very big mistake!
Tempest #5 Posted June 14, 2004 God I wish I could pick that up. For a bronze era game it's alot of fun. MAME it? Are you insane? Tempest
bcostin #6 Posted June 14, 2004 Wow, that's a sharp looking restoration. I really like Bronze Age games, too. I'm just a state away (MD), if I only had the room for it. I hope it goes to a good home. One that won't turn it into a MAME cabinet.
Cassidy Nolen #7 Posted June 14, 2004 Couple of nibbles so far gang, no bites. I will give it another day or two, then off to RGVAC and then ebay. Would really rather see it go to another AA fella. Great piece, good deal, can't be all bad. MAME really would be a tragedy to this piece. Its 30 years old now, and is 100% complete. My opinion on MAME cabs (and it is just my opinion) would be ones that are incomplete, but still have that 'arcade' look that someone wants. This little fella has been abandoned, damaged, parts taken off, etc. After a GREAT deal of work (the whole front edge is fiberglass), a board repair, rewiring of a power supply, new monitor and various other painted details, it would seem a tragedy to separate what has finally come back together.. Albert #8 Posted June 14, 2004 Man, if you weren't so far away I'd take it off your hands, and NO, I would not turn it into a MAME cabinet (that would be a tragedy!) Hope you're able to find a good home for it. ..Al
