Stone #3 Posted June 17, 2004 Needle Path test is Dante.exe/Needle Path Test PC - This PC CD has a demo of a game called Dante that some have suggested is Dante's Inferno the unreleased game for the Jaguar. This did come with a batch of Jaguar CD's direct from Atari HQ, so it is possible. Hopefully with this release someone can confirm whether it is or is not. I haven't got this running yet (not tried it on my old laptop) but others have: Dante.exe seems very tempermental (we've had a long discussion on this over at TAEX). Most success has been with older Win 98 or 95 machines. I use a Sony Vaio Laptop 333mhz w/win 98 to play it. It won't work on my newer machines. The graphics are pretty exciting and scream Jaguar. You may want to pop over to TAEX and look at the Extremist threads over there. Lots of info. I'll give it another go later on, on my laptop, and see if anything happens. Worth a try, at least Stone
Matthias #4 Posted June 17, 2004 Hello, Dante runs just fine on my 750MHz Win98SE system. It contains a very small WAD, with a limited movement-path for the dante-character, it can only run from left to right in on track through a wood towards a house. You can just tell it to turn around 180%, or to go fast or slow or to stop. The WAD doesn't seem to have a usual header, so none of my editors or WAD-based programs accepted it (nor did Dante accept another WAD-file). I tried to get a screenshot, but the colour-depth gets lost. Regards Matthias
