EricDeLee #26 Posted June 17, 2004 My white whales are very similar to some of yours: Carts: Crystal Castle (Atari 2600... I got one now) Dragon Warrior IV (NES... Got one) Dragon Warrior III (NES)... Don't have it... because I'm a cheapskate as well. Pitfall 2 (This one I saw a few times... but I refused to pay $15 for it. Then I got one for .50 thanks to a certain wonderful Tulsan!!) Shadowrun (Sega) I'm trying to be cheap. Saw a loose cart a while ago for $9 and should have bought it. Systems: Vectrex... It took me a year to get this baby! I'm glad I finally did! Sega Nomad... had one ripped out of my hands by a seller at a flea market when the guy behind me offered him $5 more than I did. Even though the guy was selling it for $15... and I already had my cash out of my wallet. Talk about pissing me off!!!!! There is one available to me right now for $20... and it isn't all that pretty looking but it works. I may buy it (and get a new screen cover for it) and then sell it on ebay. I currently have one in layaway at a local video game store that is in near perfect condition (with battery packs and wall adapter). I'm hoping to get Shadowrun and a good Sega Golf game before I get it out of layaway. NEO GEO COLOR When you all are talking about NEO GEO... is this what you are talking about? I'm not familiar with an actual console (though I remember one at the last Oklahoma Game convention (where I frist fell in love with Vectrex). I mainly want this handheld so that I can have a portable Pacman that follows the patterns of the arcade game. Maybe I'll try the other games... but for now... that ONE game is my goal! Atari Lynx I like this little sucker! Took me a while to get it as well... but now it's in good hands! Now I need more games! Game Gear I bought one a while back and wasn't all that impressed with it. Then I got a deal a little while ago and got a TV tuner with it... all for a great price. I also noticed that you can buy an adapter to play Mega games on there. I'm really beginning to enjoy this little thing Turbo Grafx Express... I know very little of this thing. But it seems cool. lol I seem to be getting a lot of portable stuff lately... so I may try to get my paws on one of these. I keep looking for one on ebay... Now... new portables are coming out (New Gameboy DS, and then the PSP) so I'll have to get those as well. Arcade Game: PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN PACMAN DAMN I WANT ONE!!!!!!! lol [/b]

EricDeLee #28 Posted June 17, 2004 I've seriously thought of just making a MAME cab to look exactly like it. That's how bad I want Pac cab. I also want to make a tabletop version that is kind of like the new Galaga/Mrs. Pacman reunion cabs. But I want Pac artwork other than Mrs. Pac

Do not shortchange yourself when it comes to getting yourself a Pac-Man cab! Get the real thing, with the the real PCB boardset (none of that Multi-Pac or speed up crap). Wait if you must, it will be worth it to own the GENUINE thing!

Dones #33 Posted June 17, 2004 Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for SNES Is it really hard to find? I bought a complete used copy in 1998. Back then I wanted to collect the NES ones but thought it was cheaper to get the SNES compilation. My "white whale" would be a copy of NES Dragon Warrior IV. I saw it only once at a local Kmart in the mid 90's used for about $10. At the time I was not into collecting, so I didn't buy it. Now every time I see it going for over $100 bucks at ebay it makes me wish I had.

SS #35 Posted June 18, 2004 Either the Japanese version of the SMS game "Enduro Racer" (it has more tracks than the US/Euro versions do) or the Japanese only "Namco Gallery Vol. 1" for Gameboy (it includes the only Gameboy version of "Mappy" released to date, AFAIK). Nateo #36 Posted June 18, 2004 I'd say my white whale is any 2600 game with a rarity higher than a four

EricDeLee #38 Posted June 18, 2004 I will more than likely be selling my Dragon Warriors in a few months. (Depending on how well my flash cart thingy works). I was going to place on ebay... but I could take care of two 'White Whales' for this board! Dragon Warrior II Dragon Warrior IV No box or instructions (well... I printed off instruction booklets in color from the internet). Name a price. (Right now I'm in a middle of a game of DW IV.... so I have to finish it first of course.) Heavy Sixer #41 Posted June 21, 2004 I'd like to obtain the boards for the old SNK arcade game Psycho Soldier. This was an old favorite of mine from back in the day; I didn't realize the game was so rare until I started trying to track down the board set on eBay. I've only seen a few of them appear on there, and the two that didn't get pulled early both went for ~$250.
Scooterb23 #42 Posted June 21, 2004 Wow, can't believe that game goes for so much! Psycho Soldier was a favortie of mine as well! Was there ever a home version? I'd like to play it again...
Jasoco #43 Posted June 22, 2004 Cubivore for GameCube. Also, DOOM II for GBA. And then I'll just need DOOM for the 3DO, or is it CDi? Either way, those two are all I need to complete my collection. And if I could find a box for or boxed copy of the N64 and SNES versions, they'd all be complete. Oh, damn. I also need the manual for the Jaguar version. THEN it'll all be complete... no.. also the manual for the PSX Long Box version... Damn.. I'm asking for too much, aren't I?
MattG/Snyper2099 #44 Posted June 23, 2004 A dedicated peter packrat upright arcade game. Man, I would love one. I haven't even been able to find the PCB for sale. I don't think it's jamma but I'm not sure. As far as released stuff for the 2600, off your rocker has illuded me for quite a few years now. But, it's all good.
