Kenwood #1 Posted June 17, 2004 Who had "this" as a kid during the 2600 craze? I had one as a kid and had mom sewn on my Activsion patches on the shoulder: Pitfall, Kaboom, River Raid, Stampede, Keystone Kappers, etc
Chris++ #2 Posted June 17, 2004 I had a red X myself.
Chris++ #3 Posted June 17, 2004 Never mind, I see it now. I would've killed for one of those as a 10-year-old. Too cool! (Too silver as well, of course.)
+Random Terrain #4 Posted June 17, 2004 I had the blue one: http://www.atariage.com/magazines/magazine...&CurrentPage=14 One of the few extra things like that I ever got in my life up to that point. I was lucky just to get a new game. I didn't care about Activision patches since Activision mostly made toilet paper games. Too bad I gave my jacket away in 1984. sku_u #5 Posted June 17, 2004 I wouldn't have been caught dead in one of those back in the day.
+Random Terrain #6 Posted June 17, 2004 I wouldn't have been caught dead in one of those back in the day. But isn't that because you were 45 in 1982 with a wife and 3 kids?
atari_wizard #7 Posted June 17, 2004 i wouldn't mind having one, but couldn't wear it. nice show off item though.
rasty #8 Posted June 17, 2004 It would have probably been considered very nerdish/geekish even back then... therefore I would have loved one!! Regards, Rasty.-
Adrian M #9 Posted June 17, 2004 Not me. Thank god for that!
Kenwood #10 Posted June 17, 2004 For some reason I remember mailing away for it (ie Free). Can't remember what for though....
+Random Terrain #11 Posted June 17, 2004 Hey, the blue one wasn't so bad. I wore mine at school and "everyone" wanted one for themselves. Nothing but compliments and drooling, from the nerds to the cool kids.
ATARIPITBULL #12 Posted June 17, 2004 As a kid I had the blue one, but now I have both of them, what I really want is the Parker Bros Super Cobra Jacket!
Big Player #13 Posted June 17, 2004 Ah, those mesh baseball hats. You would be hard pressed to find a dumber looking baseball cap. Can't believe anyone ever thought they were cool looking. My brother and I each had a Pac-Man one. He his had a red bill, my hat had a blue bill. I'm glad to say I have no idea what happened to my hat.
+legeek #14 Posted June 17, 2004 had and wore the Silver one as a kid... Ben

Kenwood #16 Posted June 17, 2004 Had the girl in the ad when she turned 18. ...BTW she's been looking for you to wish you a belated Happy Fathers Day.
Bruce Tomlin #17 Posted June 17, 2004 I've only ever found two of those while thrifting. A blue one (not sure where it is right now) and a silver one. Both kid sized. The thing about the silver one is that the silver vinyl had degraded (I think it was that way when I found it) to the point where it is adhesive to itself. I ended up wrapping it with bubble wrap just to keep it from being stuck to itself. As if that really mattered, because when I found it, the circle patch was already missing. A few months ago, I ripped the threads to get the arm patch off of it, since that was the only decent part of it left, and was actually pretty cool on its own. Draikar #18 Posted June 18, 2004 Had the girl in the ad when she turned 18. That girl in the add looks kinda like that girl in the 1970's or 80's on the laundry soap box when she was 17 holding a baby but the box came out when she was 18 or 19 and already doing porn. That laundry soap company was not happy and pulled all boxes off the shelf's.
TheRedEye #19 Posted June 18, 2004 Had the girl in the ad when she turned 18. Did she scream, Chris? Did she scream when you pulled out the knife? Did you like it? Did you toy with her a bit before puncturing vital arteries? Did you play with the blood, in front of her terrified eyes? When you threw her limp, lifeless body in that dumpster, did you crave more screams? Did you find them?
Vic George 2K3 #20 Posted June 18, 2004 I was too busy trying to fit in with people who'd rather tease me than really want to be friends with me, while also collecting videogames and videogame literature and trying to expand myself at St. Vincent's Home. I tried not to make ridiculous fashion statements even while I was being laughed at for my lack of fashion sense.
foxglove9 #21 Posted June 18, 2004 I had the blue jacket, but god forbid I wore it to school I would get seriously abused..more so than I already did. It's actually still hanging up in my closet.

Dolt #23 Posted June 18, 2004 I believe the porn star in question was Marilyn Chambers, who started out as a model on Ivory Soap boxes. Actually, I've never seen one of her movies (no, really); I know this because I worked as a page in the local library and shelved her paperback biography one day (I can't believe we had it!) and the whole gist of the cover copy was along the lines of 'she went from squeaky clean to gettin' dirty' or something equally stupid. Draikar #25 Posted June 18, 2004 I think that was her, I seen part of her story on court TV a show about the mob and that they were the big players in porn. I wonder if they also played any part in video games ? :: think TheRedEye had a brain fart before he made "that" odd past ::
