Lord-Chaos #1 Posted June 18, 2004 Paypal is crap. Although I sent a package with tracking number, they just don't accept German tracking numbers ALTHOUGH online tracking is possible on the website of German Post and refund the money to the a**hole who filed a complaint. I cannot recommend paypal for overseas shipping, because although they support German senders, they don't accept German tracking numbers, this is fraud. So every buyer can receive the package, won't react to emails anymore and can file a complaint and get merchandise for free, paypal helps such "buyers". I will never use it again, overseas shipping is now cancelled FOREVER, forget it. Paypal is crap, supports fraud, thieves certainly are happy with paypal, because they can gt everything for free. Sorry, I will only ship in Europe now with payment via bank transfer or checks. Thimo
sku_u #2 Posted June 18, 2004 Sorry to hear that, Thimo. What about preapproving the buyer by only accepting Paypal from Atariage members or something along those lines?
Lord-Chaos #3 Posted June 19, 2004 Sorry to hear that, Thimo. What about preapproving the buyer by only accepting Paypal from Atariage members or something along those lines? Sorry, I cannot use paypal anymore, they banned the account. Buyers have to pay with checks from now on. Paypal is incredibly bad.I send with insurance and online tracking , available at the website of German Post and they don't accept it? What the hell? What online tracking do they accept? It seems like a buyer just has to file a complaint and will get the money back in any case.Paypal allows buyers to get items for free. IF paypal wants to support the European market, they MUST accept the online tracking of German Post and others or they should leave the European market.I don't pay for insurance when they don't accept it anyway. The worst is, that they just refund the thief instead of asking for more information.German Post has online tracking here www.deutschepost.de/briefstatus - they didn't ask. The site is available in English, but THEY have a German site and IF they want to offer their services in Germany, they should have someone there that can read German. As long as they just refund thieves without further investigation - I gave them the tracking number, they probably did nothing, - they are worthless for European sellers. That means I can only sell to European buyers now and overseas buyers have to pay with checks. Thimo
conda #4 Posted June 19, 2004 They must be getting their payback because I cannot even load paypal right now. It cannot find the DNS. lol. What, did you have it or something?
Lost Monkey #5 Posted June 19, 2004 Unfortunately, I already knew this to be true.. I am now at a point where at least one person per month is fraudulently charging me back and there is nothing I can do about because I am in Canada...
crsdawg #6 Posted June 19, 2004 worthless for European sellers they are also worthless to american sellers. i've heard countless horror stories from sellers who've eaten losses in the thousands for dollars because of their practices. i never use them for big ticket items. it's to much of a risk. this website is dedicated to exposing them: http://paypalsucks.com/ i'm sorry to hear your bad experience and hope it didn't cost you too much. smile_walle #7 Posted June 19, 2004 Sorry to hear that happened to you Lord-Chaos. maybe you could add paypal logo at your auction like this:
spongebue #8 Posted June 20, 2004 the problem is that ebay may pull an auction if that is done, since ebay bought paypal IIRC.

Some bastard won an auction for a PS2 Double Pack Memory cards on 4/30 paid the same day. Then filed a fraud complaint this past thursday(1 1/2 months later), I respond with the tracking #, the address shipped to and all the other stuff paypal requested. Then saturday morning I get a notice they refunded the asswhipe his $35. I send a shitty e-mail requesting why they refunded it, and all I got was that they have no control over fraud and apologized. Complete bullshit!! The tracking # showed it arrived and I used the address paypal supplied.
