Was the Atari 2600 developed in the 70's?

Recommended Posts

Wasn't it being in the works in the 1970's?

Not only that .. I actually played the Atari VCS 2600 in the 1970s!

I owned one in the 70's. Okay, it was only for the last days of December in 1979, but still, it was still in the 70's decade.

Like SteveW I too was playing mine in the the last few days of December 1979. That was a great Christmas!!! In fact I'm still playing on that unit in the High Score Club weekly gaming when I actually have the game being played.

Christmas 1977, I got the Atari Video Pindall Console (C-380). I was a bummed, but it was very fun to play. I got my 2600 for my birthday in 1978.
