TCM game select?

i found an old add for the texas chainsaw massacre and it says play as leatherface or play as the victim. Looks like it was supposed to have two game selections. On the actual game though when you hit game select it lets you play two player by taking turns killing and finally in the manual it says there are no game variations very very confused anyone know whats the dillyo on this shizzy?

The advert was probably for the pre-release version that is completely

different from the game that was sold.
