Andrew Davie #1 Posted June 22, 2004 Just a short announcement that I have decided to withdraw my game 'Qb' from the marketplace. I have asked AtariAge and Hozer to cease manufacture and sales of the cartridge. Thanks to everyone who has supported the game over the years, through purchases, recommendations and reviews. It's been a fun ride. CHeers A

SS #3 Posted June 22, 2004 Andrew, Are you keeping the .bin in distribution or are you ending support for the game altogether?
Andrew Davie #4 Posted June 22, 2004 Andrew, Are you keeping the .bin in distribution or are you ending support for the game altogether? I'll probably pull the Qb page down tonight, too. Cheers A
+Nathan Strum #5 Posted June 22, 2004 Is there any possibility of a "grace period" for those of us who'd still like a chance to get one? I just finally got my 2600 hooked up again, and I've been planning to pick up a few homebrews. I'll be sorry to see it go.
Andrew Davie #6 Posted June 22, 2004 Is there any possibility of a "grace period" for those of us who'd still like a chance to get one? I just finally got my 2600 hooked up again, and I've been planning to pick up a few homebrews. I'll be sorry to see it go. I'm happy for a couple of days' grace to allow Al and Randy to clear their remaining stock. Be quick!
Big Player #7 Posted June 22, 2004 Why is it being pulled from the marketplace? I've had my copy for a year now and really enjoy it. It's sad that others won't be able to have it. But of course it's your game, you don't have to give reasons if you don't want to.
Xot #8 Posted June 22, 2004 I'll be especially upset if/when my cart should cease to function. I've had two Hozer carts go dead on me, and it was nice to know I could re-acquire it at any time. Oh well.
DEBRO #10 Posted June 22, 2004 Wait a minute...is this that strange Australian humor we hear so much about? Andrew, PLEASE say this is a joke. PLEASE don't take away my 'Qb'!
Gateway #11 Posted June 22, 2004 Whatever Andrew's motive is, it worked! I ordered Qb tonight( hope I'm not too late ). I've been putting it off for far too long.
Andrew Davie #12 Posted June 22, 2004 Wait a minute...is this that strange Australian humor we hear so much about? Andrew, PLEASE say this is a joke. PLEASE don't take away my 'Qb'! No joke. Please confirm with Al, if you like. I have requested that both AtariAge and Randy at Hozer do not sell any more Qb cartridges. Maybe we'll see the 20th anniversary edition some day

+-^CrossBow^- #17 Posted June 22, 2004 Sorry to hear this Andrew...perhaps one day you will return to us? At any rate thank you for a stellar game and overall stellar product. Your QB SE was the first homebrew I ever bought for my collection. I was one of the ones who paid the extra to keep the proto board and recieved the fixed one later. It makes me more happy to have gotten #74 when I was able to. Thank you again...
DEBRO #18 Posted June 22, 2004 I just ordered another 'Qb' so if my Hozer version dies a sudden death I'll still have another one to play.
DEBRO #19 Posted June 22, 2004 Maybe we'll see the 20th anniversary edition some day Hmmm...you originally did 'Qb' in 1984 so are we to see a reincarnation of our hero this year? I really hope so.
Big Player #20 Posted June 22, 2004 I hope the reasons for the withdrawal have nothing to do with my attempts to hack QB to make it more like Q*Bert.
Thomas Jentzsch #21 Posted June 22, 2004 I hope the reasons for the withdrawal have nothing to do with my attempts to hack QB to make it more like Q*Bert. Bingo! That's it! So YOU are responsible!
ATARIPITBULL #22 Posted June 22, 2004 All right, this means that my special edition QB with its wooden box should be worth about $5,000 or so now on Ebay.
Cap5750 #24 Posted June 22, 2004 All right, this means that my special edition QB with its wooden box should be worth about $5,000 or so now on Ebay. But wait...if you add "RARE" to your title, you'll get even more. Cap
Godzilla #25 Posted June 22, 2004 Glad I finally got the updated boards for my QB SE a bit ago :-) I'm just proud of AD for finally getting that finished. I can imagine there was some stress involved there as well as some financial loss, so I could see him wanting that in the past so to speak. I still prize my QB SE in it's neato wooden box as my top homebrew. Thanks again, AD, great work, and great love for the homebrew community. No matter how the community acts.
