Video Card With Sega Saturn Stick Ports

Recommended Posts

I ran across this card in one of those internet close out places. So I looked up more information and found this.

http://deech.betterbox.net/ebay/edge3d.html

The card has ports for two sega Saturn joysticks and a digital joystick port. Plus came with two sega saturn game, full mpeg one playback, windows 95, sound card, and a full 4 megs of ram.

As you can see this is a older card for pentium 75 class machines.

laters,

I have one. Well, just the controller part as it's separate card from the video card. It was supposed to let you use Saturn controller with some Sega PC games.

If I can remember where that part is, I think it can easily be adapted to hook with parallel port and use Saturn controller as PC controller for games. I'll have to see if there are plans on the internet for connecting Saturn controller to parallel port. Ah yes: http://www.arcadecontrols.com/Mirrors/www....pro/saturn.html

Somewhere buried in my stuff, I've got a couple of the Saturn connector port thingies. Just the connector that mounts to the back of a PC slot. I guess I'll find a use for them someday.

This thing was reviewed in a 1995-era EGM (possibly even Next-Gen Magazine).

Basically just a graphics card that brought your PC up to near-Saturn quality, though it wasn't compatible with actual Saturn games, but rather special remakes optimzed for Win95. The upside, you could use a Sega Saturn pad. I remember seeing it reviewed on one of those "Computer Chronicles" PBS shows and the version of Virtua Fighter for this product was actually inferior to the Saturn version.

The thing I'd really like to see is that 3DO Card which gave your PC actual 3DO compatibility!
