nester #1 Posted June 27, 2004 I finally reached 100 games in my Nintendo collection. Actually the number is 102, which is one more than my atari games. This really seems like a significant milestone to me. I have been stuck in the mid 90s for a long time and it feels good to finally get past 100. Now there's only 671 to go! (I think)
Lemmi #2 Posted June 27, 2004 congrats on hitting 100 carts i was at about 70 carts, when i decided to start the nes buying now im at 250 or so, with about 40 boxed, and most of these games came from Funcoland/gamestop, but im done collecting for the nes unless a nice rare cart pops up that i cant turn down
Jasoco #3 Posted June 27, 2004 I'm at about 144. But 4 are duplicates, boxed of course. And if you count my licensed and unlicensed Gauntlet's as two, which I don't, then it's actually 139. But I'll say 140.. unless unlicensed don't cound at all, then... Damn.. 8 unlicensed games.. I really got only 131 licensed by Nintendo games, including the Tengen licensed games. I'd like to get to 150 just to satisfy myself. Haven't really collected NES since GS dumped them, and well, EB's prices are outrageous, as well as always wrong. (I found three copies of SMB 2 once all priced with different games prices. None were actually SMB 2. One was SMB 3, one was the SMB/DH.. it was maddening! They can't get anything right! So I'll have to resort to eBay for the most part.
Brad2600 #4 Posted June 27, 2004 I'm currently at 127 NES games. Right now, I'm only interested in finding the rest of the games with pixellated artwork labels that I don't have.
Jasoco #5 Posted June 28, 2004 I'm currently at 127 NES games. Right now, I'm only interested in finding the rest of the games with pixellated artwork labels that I don't have. Ditto. There are a lot of NES games I'll probably never have, but as long as I can get the Pixel ones.. even if not boxed.
nester #6 Posted June 28, 2004 Right now I am up to 13 Pixel covers. 14 if you count the Legend of Zelda which is from the same time but without the pixels. I think there's 27 total, so I guess that's about half.
Jasoco #7 Posted June 28, 2004 Right now I am up to 13 Pixel covers. 14 if you count the Legend of Zelda which is from the same time but without the pixels. I think there's 27 total, so I guess that's about half.Zelda does not count. Also, there's 33 or so. Zelda wasn't even from the same time. The pixel games are from the release time, Zelda was 3 or 4 years later!
Brad2600 #8 Posted June 28, 2004 If either of you need a loose copy of Urban Champion, PM me. I happened to get a boxed version at the same time I found my loose version. It's a game with the pixellated art.
Room 34 #9 Posted June 28, 2004 Right now I am up to 13 Pixel covers. 14 if you count the Legend of Zelda which is from the same time but without the pixels. The pixel games are from the release time, Zelda was 3 or 4 years later! My NES collection is still in its infancy, but these (the early, pixel art ones) are the games I am most interested in collecting. Does anyone have a complete list of them? nester #10 Posted June 28, 2004 Actually, Zelda came out before Slalom and Rad Racer! However there are 33 unless you count the Super Mario Bros./ Duck Hunt combo. I guess we were both right. The list goes as follows: Super Mario Bros Clu Clu Land Ice Climber Kung Fu Pinball Donkey Kong Jr. Math Wrecking Crew Mach Rider Excitebike 10 Yard Fight Baseball Golf Tennis Duck Hunt Hogan's Alley Wild Gunman Gyromite Stack-Up Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Donkey Kong 3 Mario Bros. Popeye Balloon Fight Urban Champion Gumshoe Metroid Pro Wrestling Soccer Volleyball Kid Icarus Slalom Rad Racer I hope that helps. The list I got this from is supposedly chronological, but it's hard to tell sometimes. I hope it's not too confusing
Jasoco #11 Posted June 28, 2004 Oh, well still. Zelda doesn't count because it's not pixellated. Anyway, I guess you should count the SMB/DH game as well. So it's 34. 33 that actually came in boxes... I mean game boxes.
pmpddytim #12 Posted June 28, 2004 My fiance only has about 40ish nes games. I'm just proud I'm marrying a girl who collects classic games. She also has a collection of SNES and one atari cart (My proposal cart). -Tim
figgler #13 Posted June 28, 2004 Hitting that 100 mark is so sweet. I remember #100 was Bionic Commando for me. I'm up to approx 123 with no duplicates at all (and no unlicsenced games) and just found WWF King of The Ring at lunch, so make it 124. I'm also proud to report that all of these games are hand selected by me with no slouches as far as my tastes go. 124 quality NESgames. You won't find me picking up Dynowarz or Total Recall just to say I have 125 If you want to make the pixel-label hunt more interesting, try hunting for the old carts with no tabs in the front. I think the 27 number that Jasoco quoted may be right for tab-less pixel games Kepone, still got that Urban Champion? I actually still need that one. Hard to find in these parts
Zeus #14 Posted June 28, 2004 I have two tab-less NES carts. One is Hogan's Alley and I think the other is Urban Champion.
Jasoco #15 Posted June 28, 2004 Yeah, I noticed that tabless-ness too. I have 12 of them, not all are Pixellated. Mine are: 3-D Worldrunner* Baseball Duck Hunt Golf Gumshoe Gyromite Kung Fu Mach Rider Popeye Slalom* Soccer Wrecking Crew *3-D World Runner is the only one not pixellated and Slalom is made by Rare. BTW, does that count as Pixellated? It IS pixels, but not in the same sense as the rest of the old ones. Same with Rad Racer which is also Pixels, but not the same feeling. So should we only count ones made by Nintendo? How many would there be there? The ones with tabs I have are: 10-Yard Fight Excite Bike Hogans Alley Mario Bros. Metroid* Pin Ball Rad Racer* Super Mario Bros. SMB/DH Urban Championship *Metroid is the other game in a silver box. As is Rad Racer which is made by Square. figgler #16 Posted June 29, 2004 If you are not only counting the Nintendo pixellated ones, don't forget Blaster Master. Really not too pixelated, but does show in game graphics on the label
JB #17 Posted June 29, 2004 I have two tab-less NES carts. One is Hogan's Alley and I think the other is Urban Champion. Those are neat. Cart shell looks a tad nicer, IMO. But the tabs saved them a pair of screws. BEHOLD THE EVOLUTION! Or something.
nester #18 Posted June 29, 2004 I think pixel games refer to the games published by Nintendo between 1985 and 1987 minus The Zegend of Zelda and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. I don't think the developers have anything to do with it since they were all published by nintendo with a similar type of cover art.
