Adrian M #1 Posted June 27, 2004 Hi all. I yearn to relive the days of my youth by way of emulating the TI99 and the game my best friend and I used to play over the long summers, TUNNELS OF DOOM. I got the TI99 Emulator set up and working correctly (via MESS). I can run the 10 roms that were included on some website. However, from my research, it appears that Tunnels of Doom (being that it utlizied both cart and cassette) requires a special ROM that's been modified and not readily available. Can someone help me get this title or at least point me in the direction where i can acquire it?
Tsukasa #2 Posted June 27, 2004 I want a good place to find ti99 roms as well, I might buy a ti99 off ebay for my dad, it was the first computer he ever had. They go for very little on ebay, your best bet is trying to find the original game and getting a ti99 off ebay.

I may very well end up doing just that...buying a TI99 plus the required hardware add-ons to play it. I was just hoping to get a small taste of this game before doing so though. The TI has some fantastic arcade-style games. The best part about their Space Invaders and Pacman clones (ie: TI Invaders and Munchman) is the silky-smooth frame rate and scrolling. Fire up either of these two games and then try out equivalents on any other console/computer of that era and you'll see the difference!
Zaxxon #4 Posted June 27, 2004 Check out this ftp site. There's tons of stuff, in different formats though, original, MESS, V9t9. ftp://ftp.whtech.com/ There's a ton more stuff here. It's in v9t9 format I think. I can get a lot of TI99 games to run on MESS but I don't understand how to use the v9t9 emu at all. If anyone knows how to use v9t9 I'd appreciate any help. There's alot of cool stuff here but right now I can't use it. http://mitglied.lycos.de/Bromosel/Ti99/99down.htm Micheal Fox's page is back up but he hasn't added the TI99 stuff to it yet. He used to be THE source. Hopefully soon.

Just don't play Pole Position II, because it'll knock the notion of smooth scrolling and framerates right out the window. It looks like garbage. It doesn't play that bad, although the graphics will not impress anyone.
AtariK2 #6 Posted July 12, 2004 I emulated ToD flawlessly several years ago - since it's been awhile I don't remember which emu, etc. but it was definitely a treat to fire up one of my earliest RPG experiences from my youth.

Not that it was a clone of anything, but it's a great game.
