matzieq #1 Posted June 28, 2004 I just bought a boxed junior with two joypads, what seemed a little bit strange for me - there's nothing said about joypads being available for the 2600 on this site. I found out only that identical joypads were sold with 7800 in Europe (according to this site). However, these mine were definitely sold with this junior - their picture appears on the box. So do the 7800 controllers work with 2600? Or are these special joypads for the 2600?
bjk7382 #2 Posted June 28, 2004 Yes, they are 7800 joypads that were packed-in with the 2600 and 7800 systems when they were sold in europe and australia. All 7800 joystick/joypads will work on the 2600, and 8-bit computers (and many other systems)
matzieq #3 Posted June 28, 2004 Ah, I forgot to mention that I just love them! They're most comfortable controllers for me.
bjk7382 #4 Posted June 28, 2004 Ah, I forgot to mention that I just love them! They're most comfortable controllers for me. I like the joypad style controllers, but I hear the atari brand joypads wear out pretty quick, that is why I make nes controllers to work on the 7800/2600. I use nes controllers on all my atari systems. Another reason I convert nes controllers is because the joypads are rather uncommon in the US. http://www.geocities.com/gjp57/nes-7800.txt
Vic George 2K3 #5 Posted June 28, 2004 I still favor the Suncom Joy-Sensor and the Genesis-compatible Triax Turbo Touch 360 pads.
Plink-Plonk-Ploink #6 Posted June 28, 2004 Here in Holland all junior boxsets were sold with 2 controllers with a 1 and 2 button and a crosspad with a little stick on it. Dunno if this is what you mean though
matzieq #7 Posted June 28, 2004 Well - yes, that's exactly what I was talking about. My junior has been sold in Germany, though (it still has the price - 129,99 DM!!!).
