Blasto - good ol' Playstation game

Recommended Posts

A co-worker and I were reminiscing about the glory days of the Playstation and the games we had really enjoyed for it, and the game Blasto came up.

Blasto was a comical space adventure with a cartoon look and was voiced by the late Phil Hartman. I loved that game! The voice over was hilarious and there were tons of great one-liners. We actually managed to beat the game too.

IMO this is one of those lost game franchises that was worthy of a sequel, but will probably never see. Especially considering the Phil Hartman voice was a significant part of the appeal.

Anybody play and enjoy Blasto? Or hated it for that matter? Think a sequel would have been cool?

I remember being annoyed because the name was identical to a favored title on my 99/4a.

I heard the controls on that particular title made it difficult to play. One of my favorite PS1 titles is Mega Man Legends. Thought it was fairly entertaining.

I saw a used one for sale at an EBX store, and I almost bought it, hoping that it would be a remake of the classic TI-99/4A game (which was inspired from an older arcade game with the same name.) I have a Mac, and I can't play the game Blasto 3D that's come out on the PC, either.
