joeybastard #1 Posted July 6, 2004 For our 6th wedding anniversary, my wife got me the Pelican Real Arcade controller for my Gamecube. It kicks huge amounts of ass. The stick feels great and the buttons have a nice feel too. I'm a little dissappointed that it can't assign the button idepenfdently of the game but that's a small concession. It also has the hookups for a PS and a Xbox, should I decide to pick one of them up. It is fantastic on the Midway Arcade Treasures, Konami Advanced(GBA thru the GBA player) and Namco Museum. If you got sopme extra dough, get this thing, it's well worth it.

Open it up and you'll see that it's wired almost exactly like a standard Jamma cab which means you can easily swap out the stock parts and add in some genuine Happ switches etc for an improved feel. Best joystick released for the mainstream gaming market in quite some time. Pelican should be rewarded for doing so.

Can you post a link on where to get these parts? I have a Real Arcade controller and the buttons/joystick are *very* tight. I'd like to get some replacement parts for it so it'll be easier to play with but I don't know where to look.

You can either go straight to the source: www.happcontrols.com or go to an arcade parts distributor like: http://www.therealbobroberts.com/ Alternatively, I have a few sets of Happ buttons and cherry microswitches that are left over from my Supergun project if you're interested. I also have 2 joystick assemblies left over as well.

PuddWakkr #9 Posted July 6, 2004 I had a Pelican Stick but ended up taking it back. Certain MAME emulators didn't like the stick so I ended up getting an X-Arcade. Just letting those who would be interested in getting it for XBOX emulation it's not supported by all the emulators as it doesn't have any analog control. joeybastard #10 Posted July 6, 2004 The stick can act as the analog stick but it's not true analog. That's what the mode button does, switches between digital and analog. It's a shame it doesn't work with the emulators because it's a nice setup for the price. I think for the GC it's the only arcade stick in fact. Out of curiousity, how much was the X-arcade stick? chrisbid #11 Posted July 6, 2004 there arent too many games on MAME i would like to play that require analog i also have one of these sticks, and i think its great. there are a lot of newer games like Ikaruga and Mr Driller that are well suited for this stick and its 50 bucks, its a pretty dam good deal
