FireTiger #1 Posted July 6, 2004 Logistics -> Repeat carts Ok let’s start with a “what if” and then make it work. What if we started a ‘fishbowl’ for our repeat games? After a certain # certain things would be band from the tank -> the games MUST work (properly not in 10 min if you wiggle it or stand on one foot or hit it hard enough) the games must be clean. Each box of games sent must have a correct inventory ON DISK including AA rarity. The way it would work is that some crazy person (problem one finding a crazy person) would take the carts and match up the carts to rarity people getting one point per unit rarity and points for cart condition. Points could then be used to ‘purchase’ other games for a collection. The rules would be that rarity 1-X trades to rarity 1-X, rarity (X+1)- Y would trade for rarity (X+1) – Y… That way a person cannot trade a butt load of commons to get a high rarity. I also suggest that a check or some form of payment equal to postage be sent in order to receive games (basically paying the postage for the return trip), OR a club (like net-flicks) with an annual or monthly charge. The list would be kept for easy transfer to a data table. A person wanting one of those games would just ‘pay’ the points for it. Condition like rarity based on 1-10 scale. 10 NIB, 9 opened good box 8 opened, beaten box 7 loose but like new 6 above average condition 5 average condition 4 label wear or fading 3 torn label(s) 2 torn and fading labels or missing end label 1 no labels EXAMPLE If I sent these games (pictured below) and sent the check for return postage for all of them. Below is a picture of some carts I used in a trade, but these would be an example.
