Monitor Compatibilities?

What should I know before I try to swap a monitor out? Simply put, I took a (believed to still be) working monitor out of one machine and want to put it in another. Should I be concerned about possible different voltages or any such stuff as that?

 

I don't have the monitor brands handy right now.

There are different resolutions, only a few games are capable of changing resolutions (like NFL Blitz). There are standard resolution(most common for most games), high resolution and even some digital moniters like the new golf games.
