Empire Strikes Back : Does a SW Theme PAL version exist ?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure about that because it was far far away in my childhood. But it seems to me that the SW Empire strikes back I had (a PAL one I'm sure of that) played the Star Wars Theme.

The one I just received don't.

Maybe I'm confused... I've played too much the NTSC version on emulators...

Does a PAL version with the Star Wars Theme exist ?

I've never heard of one. For some reason they took it out in the PAL release. I can't believe they did it on purpose (unless there ws some kind of international copyright problem), so I'm guessing who ever did the NTSC to PAL conversion accidently disabled it or possibly they needed the extra memory space for some kind of bug fix. Just a theory, has anyone ever dumped the coded to see if the music is actually still in there?

Well the 2 PAL versions I have do not play the SW theme. They don't even have a title screen. You are straight into the game screen when you turn your Atari on.

Well I guess I can chalk that down as another title we PAL people get which is an inferior product to that of you NTSC guys

Hmmm, didn't realize it started back in the days of Atari though.

No it wasn't, the only SW cart I owned when I was a child was ESB.

but as I said maybe my memory is confused.

Speaking of ESB. In the manual it says something about a place to repair your speeder. I have never seen any such landing pad, ever. Where is it?

You just land between the mountains on the flat spots. Wait a second or two and poof! Instant repair.
