WTB: snes/super famicom converter

i'm looking for a converter that will allow one to play PAL super famicom games on an us snes. primarily because i have a super fam multicart that i can't get to work on my snes (the tabs have been removed) and i'd like to see if it is in fact PAL and not DOA. lik-sang is sold out of the honey bee super magic converter. would a game genie work for this purpose? thanks in advance for any info and leads.

Nope. Genies pas through the existing lockout chip instead of supplying their own. And PAL games use a diffrent lockout chip than NTSC ones.

 

You can disable the lockout chip yourself. But you might not want to oppen the system and fart with it just to test one game.
