TuzenTCA #1 Posted July 17, 2004 Hello, I was reading an article at www.telegames.com and it made me think, could someone put out an emulator for the old game.com. Then it made me think, does anyone even remember the ill-fated game.com? I was wondering since everyone at this site involved in technology seems to be so smart if it could be done? Thanks, James McAninch
Xot #2 Posted July 17, 2004 I would think the touch screen would be a HUGE obstacle for accurate emulation. And yes, I have a game.com. It died an uneventful death and now resides in my basement.
TuzenTCA #3 Posted July 17, 2004 Couldn't you just not worry about the screen, I mean program just as if it were a normal screen? I thought that it wouldn't matter, though it may make games FUBAR if you touched the screen during gameplay.
Ze_ro #4 Posted July 17, 2004 Well, the touch screen could easily be handled with a mouse... that's no big problem. However, there isn't a lot of need to emulate a system that you can get for so cheap. Look on eBay, and you can get one with like 8 games for about $25 or $30. Instead of playing crummy games on an emulator, you might as well spend the money and play them the way they were meant to be played. (Or better yet, forget about the system entirely... there isn't a lot of redeeming value in the Game.com) --Zero
Trooper #5 Posted July 17, 2004 I wish I could get my hands on a game.com. They're not really easy to find at a reasonable price here. /Troop
TuzenTCA #6 Posted July 18, 2004 I wanted to emulate a 2600 on a game.com! the game.com games are all bland, yet 2600s would be great on the system. Read the damn article before you start talking about stuff. Eesh!
