Single Dragon: The Series Falls

Recommended Posts

Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls arrived last week and I was quite pleased with the graphics and sound but the playablity took a nose dive when I realised what the "2 Player Mode" was.

Had I known that you can't play Billy and Jimmy at the same time and gangup on the computer, I would not have bought it.

My friend and I referred to it as "Single Dragon", took it out, and popped in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story to satisfy our beat-em-up hunger.

Anyone else disappointed with this strange deviation from the Double Dragon series? Was this the rest there were no more Double Dragon games?

Yep, I believe Double Dragon V was the death knell of the series. I remember trying to play it, but to the life of me, I can't remember anything about the game. Except for the cartoonish character designs.

Hello,

Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls arrived last week and I was quite pleased with the graphics and sound but the playablity took a nose dive when I realised what the "2 Player Mode" was.

I'll have to find this again, and pop it in the Jag some time. I really

can't remember it very well, just immense disappointment with it.

My friend and I referred to it as "Single Dragon", took it out, and popped in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story to satisfy our beat-em-up hunger.

Now indeed that is a much better game, but it's a pity that they

used ported graphics so much, the colour depth may be 256, but

somehow it just lacks depth and polish, but Bruce Lee just rocks!

Anyone else disappointed with this strange deviation from the Double Dragon series? Was this the rest there were no more Double Dragon games?

This has to be one of the most overlooked and forgotten Jaguar games

in my opinion. With good reason! In fact, I think I honestly almost never

played this one. Does anybody have anything good to say for it?

Cheers,

JustClaws.

Its... umm... hmm... its got a very yellow box, really stands out well (and thus makes it easy to avoid).

Hahahahahaha... :D

I still haven't played this one yet. While i will get it eventually in order to complete my collection, from what seems to be the general consensus, i might just have to get this one last!

For those who don't know, there are two Double Dragon games on the NEO GEO platform.

1. DOUBLE DRAGON the movie (Data East). a 2D fighter loosely based on the movie.

2. RAGE OF THE DRAGONS (Evoga). Came out about 2 years ago. Not considered a "true" Double Dragon due to some licensing issues, but the elements such as Billy, Jimmy and Abobo are there.
