Red 5 #1 Posted July 19, 2004 Just posted a 6 switch in great condition on ebay with 45 unique game titles. If you are just starting out, it would be a great starter system. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MESE:IT
AtariLeaf #2 Posted July 19, 2004 Nice lot. Should do very well.
Red 5 #3 Posted July 19, 2004 Thanks. If it does do well, I turn around and spend it on more Atari stuff anyway. It's a horrible cycle with no end. Has anyone diagnosed and named this Atari addiction yet ? I'd like to be able to have a support group. "Hi, my name is Steve and I have Atariosis." conda #4 Posted July 20, 2004 I like this statement in your ad: You will get NO cheesy lines from me ! No lines like 'I have no way of testing this' or '...but just a quick trip to Radio Shack...' Can I use that one when I sell my stuff? I can't stand reading statements like: "I have no way of testing", "It worked when I put it away", "I have no switchbox", "It might just need a little cleaning", etc. Can you think of any others? I'm making all of these up. "Only caught on fire ONCE...was quickly doused...but worked fine before that." "Joysticks only partially chewed on." "Paddles are jitter-free unless used." "All games tested" (when it's an Atari 2600 and five ColecoVision games pictured) "Only missing one or two keys" (pictured Commodore 64 missing the F1 and Return keys...the two most used keys...) Back on topic: that's a very nice setup for someone... Voch
AtariLeaf #6 Posted July 20, 2004 I like this one - "It worked fine that last time I used it which was 25 years ago but I can't test it because I (a) don't own a tv (b) am only pretending to know what this is © I'm stupid; but it should be fine even though its covered in dust and mud." or something along those lines. Red 5 #7 Posted July 20, 2004 Thanks for noticing that. My least favorite, and probably the most popular one is... 'Selling as is. I got it at an estate sale and the guy said it worked the last time they used it." Or something to that effect. Is it that hard to plug the thing in and turn it on ? And how many people fall for the "it worked the last time I tried it 10 years ago! Selling as is!" line ? Oh well.
Adonick #8 Posted July 20, 2004 I make a point never to sell anything I haven't tested myself.

Or something to that effect. [/quote'] Mine too. I fell for that once and only once. But really didn't pay much so it didn't matter. But the seller did rape me on shipping--but that is a different story. And speaking of shipping. How do these power sellers get away with selling a single game cart and charging 5-6 bucks for shipping? I won't by those ever because of the shipping rape.
