Voch #2 Posted July 28, 2004 PM sent! I hope you're near Cleveland...I have no idea how much it costs to ship a 1541 floppy drive and whether or not it's even a good idea for such a device. Voch
SimonTemplar #3 Posted July 28, 2004 I have a 1541- II for sale CIB but I don`t know if it`s meant to be for the C 64 or some other Commodore computer.
Tsukasa #4 Posted July 28, 2004 I'm not looking to spend alot, much less on shipping cuz those things are heavy, just as long as it works.
Susuwatari #5 Posted July 28, 2004 I'd go with the 1541-II as it's usually better built and less likely to die from heat related issue that earlier 1541 has. As for shipping, I'd just stick an extra blank disk to help hold the head in place during shipping.
Voch #6 Posted July 28, 2004 I'd go with the 1541-II as it's usually better built and less likely to die from heat related issue that earlier 1541 has. As for shipping, I'd just stick an extra blank disk to help hold the head in place during shipping. That'd be fine with me if you could strike a deal for that 1541-II drive, Tsukasa, as I don't even know if my drive works (I have no floppies to test it) and I was just going to break even with this deal anyway. I'll let you know if I find a way to test it and a way to ship it. Voch
maximebeauvais #7 Posted July 28, 2004 do you need any disquette? I have around 20 with a few games on it. If yes, just send me a PM and we will talk
Tsukasa #8 Posted July 28, 2004 I don't need any disks, as i have a whole bunch of pc formatted 5 1/4 disks as I posted in the classic gaming general forum. @ Voch, any 5 1/4 disk will work, all you have to do is reformat it to commodore formatting, see my other post. @susuwatari, there is a better way to ship drives, look here.
