Help name that game: late 80s, 2 player, stone faces...??

I've been digging around KLOV with no success. The game I'm looking

for was a mid to late 80s release. Simulataneous two player. You fly

around on a top scrolling planet and on the surface would be stone

faces carved into the ground which would open their mouth which you

could get sucked into and play a side scrolling game. I remember the

game being pretty popular but just can't remember what it was called.

Sounds like Legendary Wings...if not, it had a similar feature. Fun game, either way!

Thank you. For some reason I thought it was a Sega game. I remember the game's visuals fascinated me when I was 10 but that name sure is bland. I probably didn't know the name of the game back then either

Try the NES version if you want a tough challenge. Ugh, it's hard....but beatable!
