Scott Stilphen #1 Posted October 8, 2001 One of my fav arcade games. Glad to finally at least see screen pics of it.
mos6507 #2 Posted October 8, 2001 Yeah, it looks like a good port too.

I spent a good amount of time playing this in the arcades also. Hope someday a binary image of this is released so we can see just how good of a port it really is. At the very least it'd be nice to take decent screenshots in an emulator and see how "complete" the game is! ..Al
Tempest #4 Posted October 8, 2001 Actually it doesn't look that much different than the Arcadia version. I wonder if it has all three levels or if it's only that one board? Tempest

Tempest #6 Posted October 8, 2001 Doh! Your right, 4 levels. All of them were in the Arcadia version actually. Tempest
Tempest #7 Posted October 8, 2001 Wow! I just looked at the pics for Funky Fish, and they look much better than the Arcadia version. I swear the fish in the Arcadia version is half the size of the screen! Tempest
Jess Ragan #8 Posted October 8, 2001 This could be promising! Pleiades wasn't a great arcade game but if all the rounds are in the 2600 version it could be pretty enjoyable. It already looks more colorful and detailed than the 2600 version of Phoenix. JR
+johnnywc #9 Posted October 9, 2001 So what's the story with Pleiades? Why did UA Limited make it but not release it? This used to be one of my favorites back in the early 80's and I'd love to see it released (much like EA or Combat II), with a nice label and all. Does anyone know how complete it is? Thanks,
Tempest #10 Posted October 9, 2001 I believe it's 100% complete. I think the problem was the market was falling out and they decided not to bother releasing it. It could also be that the Arcadia wasn't the commerical success that Emerson was hoping for and UA (who did the games for the Arcadia) lost some money in the deal and went out of business before they could release it for the 2600. BTW, anyone know who UA Ltd. was or who their programmer(s) were? This has been the single biggest question in the Arcadia community. Tempest
Scott Stilphen #11 Posted October 9, 2001 I'd like to know who the original (arcade) programmer was as well! Btw, from that screen shot, it looks as if some elements were "lifted" from other games - the city from Defender, the strange "Nexar-like" display in the upper-right, and the 'ships left' icon looks familiar too, but I can't place what game it's from... And the rocket and radar dish are on the opposite sides [ 10-08-2001: Message edited by: Scott Stilphen ]
