Straight from the Atari Service Manual, the 2600 Driving Controller Schematic. Have fun.

It's the rotational switch, the main part of the Indy controller. Didn't see it in the Best Catalog but might have missed it. Found some in a electronics surplus once (it's nice to live in Sunnyvale, Atari's old headquarters) but they looked kind of bent up.

Like John said, it is the spinner thing inside the driving controller. I also checked the Best catalog and couldn't find it. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I wrote an article on how to make one, using a rotary switch from Radio Shack, which may get printed in a future issue of 2600 C (*hint* )

Nope. AFAIK, they are totally different beasts, and not interchangable.

Actually, was that an article that Tim never published? If so, I haven't been able to find that one in the files yet...
