oesii #2 Posted August 10, 2004 Are these chips available any where else ? (besides having to de-solder them from carts) I got mine from from a busted 5200 console. Any 5200 or 8bit computer would have the chip and they are easily removed, no de-soldering. Hopefully you can find a non-working unit and extract a pokey. The one I pulled from the 5200 seems to have stopped working with my Cuttle Cart 2 though. It worked at first but now I haven't been able to hear the music in Commando and Ballblazer. I'll probably try to desolder another Pokey from a 7800 BB cart and do further testing. Hope its not the CC2 or the CC2 software. Or if someone points us to a good Pokey source

Rob Mitchell #4 Posted August 10, 2004 Goto http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/custom-i.htm Under custom chips: CO12294 (POKEY) $5.00 Shall we order a bunch for the owners of the next batch of CC2 carts? Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
Richard H. #5 Posted August 10, 2004 Shall we order a bunch for the owners of the next batch of CC2 carts? Yes, I could do with 2 or 3 - It'd be easier for me to PayPal you, than order direct from the UK Rob, try asking for a discount on a bulk purchase
Tsukasa #6 Posted August 10, 2004 I heard that if a 7800 cart has "super game cartridge" on it, it has a pokey chip in it. That's wrong though, I found a "Hat Trick" that didn't have a pokey in it. Also, you could try mike's arcade store. I don't know the url off the top of my head, but you can get pokeys there.

There are only two 7800 games with an onboard Pokey; Ballblazer and Commando. Mitch
+-^CrossBow^- #8 Posted August 10, 2004 Right, and I believe we discovered that the only requirement for a 7800 game to get the Super Cart label was for the cart to be of a certain size. But that doesn't explain Hat Trick...ugh...
