Good Value - Army Men: Sarge's Army

Was at Wal-Mart yesterday and they had a new release that I picked up, Army Men: Sarge's Army for Gamecube. It was only $14.88!

 

I'm sure a lot of you will think that it's not worth that, but I found the game to be quite a bit of fun, but overall I have enjoyed the Army Men series. Sarge's Heroes was actually the first game I picked up for the N64, so maybe I like it because of that nostalgia. It looks great on the Gamecube.

 

It's basically just another Army Men game, but well worth the cheap price IMO.

I always like those games too...never understood why they were so "bad"? They give what they promise though, so I might want to check this out...And since it is cheap i'll at least get what I pay out of it..Hmm, maybe next time I go shopping I'll pick it up

its not the same as the N64 one is it? that game had potential but the lousy control scheme really ruined it on that platform...trying running across that yardstick in a staight line grrrr. i thought the first game on the PS1 was really fun, i recall a happy sunday afternoon blasting thru the whole thing. that was early on in my PS1 gaming, later on it seemed very low tech and plain to me. the series really started to crap out with army men world war, it was so poorly done i gave up because it was just too stupid to care about finishing. i hope they regained their senses and stopped pimping the franchise so hard.

No, it's not a rehash of an N64 (or other console) game. Seems to be completely new. It is very similar however, with objective-based missions and alternating between two worlds (their world and our world with areas like the kitchen).

 

As for what type of game it is, it's a 3rd person perspective action game. You get a variety of weapons to collect, including rifles, bazooka, and grenades. You have lots of enemies (the tan army) to fight, plus vehicles to take out. The first mission, for example, is to take out the tan army communication post so they stop calling off airstrikes.

 

Oh, and it's the first Army Men game NOT done by 3DO! Some other company developed/published it.

The two original Army Men rocked. They were RTS games on the PC, and were really fun. But once they started to have all these games, Air-Attack and Sarges Heros, they were all TERRIBLE. Such a shame, its such an intresting concept.

I was only aware of one RTS title, which was just called "Army Men RTS" (which I own and play on the PS2) what is the other title?

 

I also agree that the first person shooter type of Army Men games suck.
