Quest for Quintana Roo EPROM cart

Recommended Posts

My QFQR also has the extra sticker on top of the mainlabel, so I think they did a whole run of these.

The same cartridge casing as the one you have was also used for multicarts, the holes are for the dipswitches which most multicarts have.

I have a Telegames QFQR as well, but it does not have this sticker. Unfortunately that means I can't open it up to see if it contains an EPROM or a regular ROM, because I don't want to wreck the label.

Noticed my QFQR cart had a sticker on top of the main label, which I found was put there to cover up the screw holes. Upon opening it, I discovered that the ROM chip was actually an EPROM. The sticker looks "factory", as does the board. Do most/all of Sunrise's (Telegames) carts have EPROMS in them? Also, the cover has 5 small holes in it - any idea what these were for?

You can see pics of the cart here.

I can also see the outlines of the mysterious five rectangular holes in the cartridge case beneath the main label. I have no clue why the holes are there

These generic cartridge casings were also used for multicarts, multicarts need switches, and switches need holes, there you go

Ben,

I did a search in my collection, Bit corperation uses the same cartridge casings as Telegames or maybe the otherway around.

Here´s a scan at Gamereset this cart uses two of the mystery holes.
