ATARISOFT: Can it ever be part of Atariage?

Recommended Posts

By now we all know that at one time under the "Jack Tramiel's Regime" Atari was force to release games for other units and home computers under the name 'Atarisoft' but even if thats the case I still think that Atariage should put a MISC-Page with ever Atarisoft games from box scan and screen shot and I know there's lots of Atari fans and collectors may have the real games and hope to put together here.

Here's a small sample on some of the games that Atarisoft put out,

I think Atariage should have a section like that. It makes sense I think, because Atari happened to release some good ports over on other consoles, even though they aren't 2600-7800 consoles.

Yea and there's not many at all I know for a fax that Im not the only one here at the forum who has some Atarisoft games and if we can scan all of them it won't take long to put together a good Atarisoft section at Atariage :D

I been looking around on the net and found some FAQ pages with info on how many games they made and here's a link from Classic Consoles Center, http://www.dieterkoenig.at/ccc/index_at_fa...aqatarisoft.htm

I love how it plays on the 'You wont get a girl unless you buy Atari!' thing.

Ah, the old "No Pc, No Pussy" Ploy...

Atari had it wrong, all that joystick wrestling is counterproductive. Practice holding your breath, eat lifesavers from the hole outward.

Hey, that's a great idea. I'd love to see an Atarisoft rarity guide, Atarisoft scans, etc.

BTW, Atarisoft was before Jack Tramiel, wasn't it?

I think it was started around 1983 or so, and continued until 1987. I'm not sure though.

I think Jack Tramiel told them to go from INTV & ColecoVision and Apple ][ to other systems like the Commodore 64, IBM PC, Spectrum ZM and etc.

And that comic up there does remind me of the old "Games = Women Magnets" ploy that Atari started.

Manholes of Venus!?

Sounds like those kids were way ahead of their time with respect to internet porn. Sick bastards.

A list of Atarisoft's Spectrum stuff can be foundhere

As far as I can remember, both Moon Patrol and Robotron were written but never released on the Spectrum.

I've got all the Texas Instruments games except Ms. Pac-Man and Joust. I'm not sure that I still have Pac-Man, either. I haven't dug through my collection in a few years.

I'm sure Albert would be interested in your scans and such. It all depends on how Atarisoft fits in here on Atariage.

Why not PM him and ask, unless he hasn't already noticed? It could work.
