Inky #4 Posted October 14, 2001 This is what I meant about this being a true community.. I bid thee Godspeed... Come back soon though!
Ze_ro #5 Posted October 14, 2001 You'll be back. They always come back. Lately I've been in a bit of a slump. I've been sick (though not in any serious way) for a week or so now, I can't concentrate on anything, and my attention span is pretty much gone. I'm not sure what's causing it either (though I have a pretty good idea: girls). My point is, I still come here on a regular basis... As crappy and busy as things are, I still manage to escape with my Atari once in a while --Zero
NE146 #6 Posted October 14, 2001 quoteYou'll be back. They always come back Exactly.. just like we all have numerous times over the past 25 years. Heck, the 2600 console is so damn old, that if it aint out of your system by now, then it probably never will be. I personally must have stored away my atari stuff for YEARS at a time, several times throughout my 32 year old life depending on what was happening or what phase I was going through. ..And there they remained, safe until the next time.. Osbo #10 Posted October 14, 2001 Well guys, seems like I ain't the only one leaving I'm enlisted, and I'll be leaving for boot camp in Fort Sill - Oklahoma this 20th. After that I'll be stationed in Fort Bragg - North Carolina with the 82nd Airborne. Internet cafes are evidently not part of the standard equipment at basic training, so hopefully I'll be back as soon as I'm my feet again My Atari suff, along with my bike, books, computer, and several boxes with my things are going to storage here in Miami. I'm glad I've found this forum with such as nice guys writing on it See y'all soon! Bye!!! OsBo

+-^CrossBow^- #17 Posted October 15, 2001 Osbo.. Hehe..enjoy Ft. Sill...cause once your on the other side of the tracks...your world will change forever. You don't know what I mean right now...but you will come the 20th or so. I too did my Basic, AIT, and was permanently stationed at Ft. Sill, OK. Heck...I live in Tulsa so it worked out well for me. Good luck at boot camp son and remember these three rules... Always do "Exactly" what your told to do when told to do it. Never try and set the standards for the Platoon...that is...don't make yourself look too good because standing out...only makes your mistakes more obvious. Finally, Never volunteer for anything!!!..You have to make the attempt as if your going to...otherwise the whole platoon gets dusted...but don't ever jump ahead and volunteer. In Boot camp...that usually means KP personell are needed and you don't want that trust me! That is about all I can provide for now. Oh...hope you like the sound of Chains clanging in galvanized trash cans at 4:30-5:00 in the morning...heheh Remember this, sunday you are allowed to go and worship for an hour or so...do this even if your not very religious because if nothing else...you get some time to yourself. Above all, remember that the drill sergeants are human beings just like yourself. They do what they do for your protection believe it or not. They have a stressful job ahead of them and being jerks is basically the only way to get things done. Just follow my three rules above and you will do fine. Enjoy!
