Gunstar #1 Posted October 18, 2001 Well, the GoodWill near me has started selling some 2600 games (along with nintendo, sega and the rest) at the front counter, in plastic bags that are stapled shut, for .99$. The ting that amazed me though, is while they don't include original boxes, they all had the instruction manuals and they are in about as close to mint condition as you can get, the cartridges too. I'm wondering if this was just from some persons collection, or what? Anyway, I picked up Combat and Sega's Carnival. They also had Defender, MissleCommand, realsports baseball, Asteriods and an M-network football game. I have all the others, so I left them. Now, if they can just start carring 5200/7800/lynx and Jag cartridges too...and 8-bit!
Cassidy Nolen #2 Posted October 18, 2001 I hit a deal last January for a 4 port 5200 and ten games, with two controls for 25 bucks at the UCM Back Porch store. Did well to find it there (under all the junk), but ended up selling my other one because this one is nicer. Have bought Popeye (not really rare at all, but fun) for a buck too! +RangerG #3 Posted October 18, 2001 I love Goodwill. You need to find the one that has more video games. They actually specialize somewhat in that some take furniture and have more space for it and some draw from areas of town where more video games would show up. Recently, I bought an Intellivision and 8 boxed games for $20. Good place and helps a good cause. I also donate my old stuff.
King Atari #4 Posted October 18, 2001 Last time I checked, my Goodwill had nothing but clothes .

Let me get this straight... you had Asteroids, Missile Command, Realsports Baseball, etc... but you didn't have Combat??? The Goodwill stores around here almost never have anything worth looking at. I found a Coleco Adam there once (without any cords or anything, I passed)... and I picked up a copy of Intellivision Donkey Kong another time (There was a Combat too, but I left it behind). --Zero

I'll get them eventually, but I wanted to play the games now, and at least I think combat is a different label than I have, plus a buck with mint quality label&instructions, it's a red/silver text, non-metalic red. I'll have to look closer to see if the silver is foil or print.
King Asmo #7 Posted October 19, 2001 I've found Music Machine and Gas Hog at Goodwill before, so I'd suggest to keep going to them. I've found that the smaller out-of-the-way Goodwills usually yield more stuff, because they're not searched by collectors nearly as often. My town has a rather large goodwill near the downtown core.. I've visited it almost 30 times, and all I've ever found is one Emerson Arcadia game.. until last weekend, where I found 3 NES games, all of which I didn't have (I finally got a copy of NES Bump N Jump, WITH instructions). The goodwill I found Music Machine and Gas Hog at has been pretty dry lately, but in the last two months I've found a mint TI computer, 11 CIB TI tapes and carts, and 3 C64 carts I didn't have. I went there today, and all they had was one Super Mario - Duck Hunt cart, which is one cart more than they usually have. So keep searching! And keep donating to Goodwill.. it's a good cause, and it will keep your house clutter-free.
Genki #8 Posted October 19, 2001 One of my better find at a Goodwill would be one of the near mint Sears Arcade system with close to 30 boxed Inty games plus a boxed replacement controller. And the best part was the goodwill staff wrote on the box for the price of each games, not on every inty boxes like they normally would do. $30 for all. I've never seen a boxed replacement controller outside Sears before.
