From what I can gather with my very meager Spanish, he built a homebrew 2600 driving controller from an old arcade joystick.

Pretty cool if you ask me.

Your idea to use a such alternative way to reproduce the working of the c010802 is very clever (for the people who don't know, it's an IC used in the original Indy 500 controller.)
