Atari Copy Cart For Auction *Not Mine*

Recommended Posts

Is that from a hermetically sealed jar? Are you serious? Can't be that much! Dammit, I need to find a cheaper addiction besides Atari collecting.

I sure thought a boxed/sealed rarity 10 would have gone higher than $355.56, especially when a Chuckwagon sold for over $600 and Boing for over $400. Too bad you have to open it to find out if it has the NTSC or PAL version inside.

Would there be any difference then?

How could a blank cart be PAL or NTSC? :ponder:

Or are you telling me there is a pre-installed game on it? :?

I thought they came with a game already programmed on them?  The box says so?  PAL Home Vision version came with Parachute, & NTSC Vidco had Dishaster?

This one is not the Homevision version, that box looks different.

Cheers,

Marco

There is a pack-in Dishaster game in its own cartridge. I would have thought a Vidco unit packaged for Europe or Australia would contain a PAL version of Dishaster. I know the Vidco unit made for North America contains a NTSC Dishaster cartridge that is different from the Zimag version. I own both the Vidco Dishaster and Zimag Dishaster. However, I do not own the PAL Vidco Dishaster. Just like a shrinkwrapped Motorodeo...you cannot tell if the game inside is NTSC or PAL unless you open it.

Marco, do you own the European version of the Vidco unit? Does it contain a PAL Dishaster? I think it would be easy to tell if the package came from Europe if the Dishaster cartridge inside was PAL.

If you have a copy cart or copier and you want to know if it is the US version or European version, that is less obvious and harder to tell. You would probably need to open a complete one of each and compare the differences. I don't think anyone has done that yet. Again, maybe Marco, who seems to own both PAL and NTSC versions of everything, could enlighten us.

I have a Vidco that came from the US and one that came from the UK. They're both still shrinked and I never checked what was on the carts. I'll have to dig them out of the basement to see if there's any difference in packaging.

Cheers,

Marco

Oh, I forgot. This is not true. If both are available and the boxes are more or less identical, I try to collect which ever one is rarer.

Cheers,

Marco

I compared the boxes, and they are almost identical. Funny thing is that the one that came from the UK has a 'distributed by Vidco' sticker on the side, the one that I got from the US does not have that sticker. The one from the UK also has "I want my mommy" pre-installed. I want to keep it shrinked, so I cannot tell if it's PAL or NTSC.

Cheers,

Marco
