Tsukasa #1 Posted August 26, 2004 How do I do one? I want to do a 50/60hz mod so I can play games at the right speed. I don't have a disk drive, so more than half of the games that I can play are PAL.
Susuwatari #2 Posted August 26, 2004 I don't know if it's as simple as Sega Master System's 50/60MHz mod but most C64 I took apart has separate NTSC and PAL jumper in the middle of the board. Bear in mind this will probably affect the video as well so unless you have NTSC and PAL friendly TV, you'll get rolling picture.
Tsukasa #3 Posted August 26, 2004 If it helps, I have board revision "A".
Vigo #4 Posted August 28, 2004 The jumper just causes the oscillator circuit to use different divider ratios. You still need a PAL VIC (6569) and a PAL Oscillator (17,73Mhz) to convert your C64 into a PAL machine.
Mayhem #5 Posted August 28, 2004 Yep... it's pretty much assured you need to just buy a PAL C64. And then figure out how to get a signal on any display you have with it.
