What was your first video game system ever??

Recommended Posts

That's the same machine I have! And I remember not plugging in the sound battery sometimes, either. I still have it, somewhere. Missing the battery doors, naturally. :)

Roberts Sportrama8, made by DYN Electronics INC.

sometime around 1978 or 79, is when i had my first gaming experience on this machine :)

it was my uncles, but i dont remember how i came to owning it

as you can see its been though alot over the years and i dont ever remember cleaning the damn thing either, i bet those stains are there for good now, also the left stick broke off so i chewed off the end of a pen cap and pushed it on over the metal stub, it may not look pretty but it still works like a charm

after that it was the 2600 not the VCS :D

Our actual first system was the Odyssey but I was fairly young at the time. I remember enjoying the haunted house game and the shooting games w/ the overlays but the system that I remember most & actually consider "my" first system was the Bally. I played & programmed on it constantly and still do to this day.

The Radofin Tele-Sports unit looks like home exercising equipment or something like that.

Not counting the self-contained Pong-type gaming units, the first one my family owned was the Atari 2600. The first one I personally owned was more likely the Intellivision II.

My first was the Atari 400. I never remember buying any games for it, so we only had like 4 the whole time we owned it before the nes came out.

I can't really consider it "my" first game machine since technically my parents purchased it for themselves while I was still a very young child, but it was some Radio Shack pong variant purchased in the early 1980's.

Got an Atari 2600 during Christmas 1982 which my brother and I were technically supposed to share as well.

2600, Vader model. The first and only console I had as a kid. Later on we did get a frankenstein 386 PC. (Later upgraded to a 386DX, woo!) Of course that was about the time 486s were waning and the amazing new "Pentium" chip was beginning to be talked about.

I guess that's part of why I collect now -- to make up for what I missed out on before.

The first system the family had was a pong system of some kind. I don't recall what brand it was. It was replaced after a short time with a Sears Telegames heavy sixer. That one was the first system that was actually mine.

nothing exciting here... my first was an Atari 2600 Darth Vader Version. My folks didn't want us playing video games cause they thought it'd hurt our grades, but they saw it w/ 17 games at a garage sale in 1988 and thought what the hell... sure enough, the grades went down. :)

NES was next in 89, the SNES in 92, the Genesis in 93 etc etc.

My first system was actually the original Game Boy with good old Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land. I didn't get a system of my own until the N64 came around, as I mainly played my older brother's systems, like the Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive. Speaking of whom, my older brother's first system was the NES. My Mum and Dad both had C64s for their first systems. My dad is 50 and he still plays Monty On The Run, albeit on an emulator :) My mum, who is also 50, plays Sonic on the Mega Drive more.

My dad had a Commodore 64, which I played on from a very young age. My neighbor had an NES (his dad's actually), which I also played on from a fairly young age (SMB, TMNT, and Batman. Those were the days!). My first console that I myself owned was an SNES, however. Got it for Christmas, 1992, when it was still fairly new to the market.

My first system that I ever owned was a Super Nintendo that my parents got me for Christmas back in 1995. They finally caved in after my brother and I had asked them year after year to get us some kind of video game for Xmas. The first video game I remember playing was Super Mario Bros. on the NES (I even have pictures of it some where)
