Combat and Adventure not working on Z26 Emulator. Help!

Recommended Posts

I have the Z26 emulator installed and I am able to play a bunch of BINs from Atari, but Combat and Adventure won't work properly. When I start either Combat or Adventure, it takes me to the start-up screen, but no matter what key I press on the keybaord or mouse, I cannot get either game to start. I also cannot slect various games or difficulty level within each game. It's like my keyboard and mouse are dettached. Oh, I've tried the same games on Stella and they don't work as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

Oh, I run Windows XP if that makes a difference.

I downloaded another Combat BIN and it did the same thing. There is the initial start-up screen but I cannot get into the game. I can't select screens and I can't start-up the game. Is there some key I would press to get thr game started.

I should add that I am using one of those Marble Mouses by Logitech. I don't think this should make a differecne, but maybe it does.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Both games need to be started with the RESET switch on the VCS. The emulators simulate the console switches with the function keys on the PC keyboard. In z26 for example F1 is RESET and F2 is SELECT. I think in Stella it's the other way around: F1 is SELECT and F2 is RESET. You said you tried every key on your keyboard, and neither z26 nor Stella reacted to the funktion keys? This is strange. What keyboard are you using, and do the arrow keys work for the games that you were able to start?

Hi,

I have a logitech "internet navigator" keyboard. I have tried everything. With caps on and caps off. Strange. Maybe the software for the keyboard isn't installed properly. For some reason I can't get the F with the circle around it to light up. Hmmm.

I am thinking it could be my keyboard. I guess I'll have to figure out hot to get the F keys working.

Ideas?

I have the same keyboard, and I develop Stella using it. Press the 'F-Lock' key to turn on the aforementioned light, and then the function keys will work as actual Fxx keys.

I didn't install any special keyboard drivers in either Windows or Linux, and it works fine. But, I need to do it every time I turn the computer on. I haven't yet found a way to do it automatically.
